Reading the grounds of a Turkish coffee cup is a social ritual, and fortune apps are popular—but many feel like slot machines: loud screens, generic texts and readings that wait in a queue. The aim was an app that takes the ritual seriously, answers in seconds and speaks in a calm, symbolic voice instead of making promises about the future.

Gölge is a React Native app built with Expo. The user photographs the cup, draws tarot cards or captures a palm; Google Gemini interprets the image or the spread with prompts built around symbols and archetypes and returns a structured reading with questions for reflection. Readings are kept in a personal archive, a scheduled cloud function sends a daily insight, and a premium subscription removes ads and unlocks longer readings.

  1. 01

    Coffee cup reading

A photo of the cup is analysed for shapes and symbols and turned into a personal reading.

  2. 02

    Tarot

Choose a spread, draw from a full deck and get an interpretation of the cards together.

  3. 03

    Palm reading

A guided capture of the left or right hand and a reading of its main lines.

  4. 04

    Archive and daily insight

Every reading is kept with its date and symbols; a short daily message arrives as a notification.

  5. 05

    Subscriptions and sign-in

Premium through RevenueCat, ads through AdMob, Google sign-in and data on Firebase.

  6. 06

    Four languages

Turkish, English, German and French, in a dark, minimal interface of black, violet and gold.

Gölge is published on Google Play. It started with coffee cup readings and added tarot and palm reading in later releases, with Firebase Crashlytics watching stability in production.
